Job Roles
Three role concepts exist in the tenant. Do not mix them. Roles are system roles with keys: what a member may do. Persona Roles are buying-role labels on deals: Champion, Decision Maker, and the rest. Job Roles catalogs positions: the job titles behind staffing, assignment, and who-does-what. Each answers a different question, so a change in one is never a change in the others.
Job Roles lives under Settings People on the Job Roles tab of Users and Teams, alongside the Users and Teams tabs. Each row is a position with a title and a short title. The rows shown are Content Manager (CM), Copywriter (CW), Creative Director (CD), Executive (EX), Graphic Designer (GD), Marketing Coordinator (MC), and Marketing Strategist (MS), showing 1 to 12 of 12 results, with search, sort, columns, and advanced filters above.
- Granting access is Roles, assigned in People. Job-role changes never grant or revoke access on their own.
- Labeling a buying center is Persona Roles, used against products or services. Job-role changes never move a deal stage.
- Staffing and assignment questions point at Job Roles. Keep titles aligned with how the team actually hires and assigns, not with access levels. Add Job Role creates one; each row edits or deletes its position.
- Review the catalog when the org chart changes. Stale titles misdirect assignment the same way stale invites misdirect access.
